Cheap catalogue shopping
Whether you're looking for a new sofa, a new washing machine or even some beautiful jewellery, catalogue
shopping is the way forward.
The way catalogue shopping works is simple, you flick through a catalogue; select which item(s) you would like
to purchase; then key in the catalogue product number of your desired product to check stock levels. If the item(s)
is in stock… all you've got to do is pay for it and wait for your collection number to be called!
It's as simple as that.
Of course, the method described above is only relevant if you are actually in the store you are catalogue
shopping in.
There are several other ways catalogue shopping works - and we'll look into these now.
Imagine you've got the Argos catalogue in front of you at home. You find the item you're looking for (which,
let's face it, won't be hard in an Argos catalogue!), and you want to check to see if your local store has said
item in stock. You're not there, so you can't ask them directly or check on the computer in front of you. Instead,
you could phone them up - they'll be happy to assist you… or, more conveniently (for you and the staff at Argos),
you could go on the internet to www.argos.co.uk and check the stock that
way!
Simply head onto the Argos website and find the product you've been looking at. You can, from there, check if
your local Argos stores have said item in stock. If they do, you can either reserve the item for store pick-up… or
you can purchase it there and then and arrange for home deliver - which means you won't actually have to pick your
item up, it will get delivered straight to your door!
Of course, if your nearest Argos store is out of stock, you can check other Argos stores near your location.
Another way catalogue shopping can work is via mail order form. This is pretty basic, and is actually how
catalogue shopping took off before the internet boom. The convenience of being able to order things (a new light
fixture, for example, or a new bed) from the comfort of your own home was very appealing and Britain grasped
catalogue shopping and held it close to its heart - and still very much does!
Mail-order catalogue shopping works like this: You receive a catalogue through the post with an order form
attached to it. You flick through the catalogue - at your own leisure, of course - finding the items you want. Once
you have done this, you simply fill in the order form using the numbers corresponding to the items you wish to
purchase. You will, though, have to provide a form of payment at this stage - which could either be a cheque or
your credit/debit card details so the company can process your transaction.
So - that's pretty much it… catalogue shopping in a nutshell. The most popular form of catalogue shopping is
undoubtedly Argos catalogue shopping - with thousands of products to choose from, both in the catalogue and on
Argos online… it comes as no surprise it's so popular!
